1 orange, zested and juiced
2 pounds fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon allspice
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer for 20 minutes on a low heat. As the cranberries heat up, they will pop and create a jelly-like consistency. Simmer until desired consistency is achieved. This relish pairs wonderfully with our Napa Valley Merlot.
Purchasing Fresh Cranberries:
Fresh cranberries, like much produce, is only available on a seasonal basis; typically in September, October, and November. These can be found in the produce section of your local grocery store in prepackaged bags. For those on the East Coast, fresh cranberries can sometimes be purchased directly from the cranberry farm.
When purchasing fresh cranberries, look for berries that are shiny, red, firm, and round, with no soft spots. Cranberries that are mushy or have brown spots should be discarded.Download Recipe PDF
