The 2010 Bench Blend Malbec exhibits intense blueberry notes with underlying hints of floral, especially violt. This wine also offers a subtle toast and lush tannins. During harvest, the Malbec grapes were destemmed, crushed and then cold soaked for three to five days. Following primary fermentation, the wine was racked into barrel for malolactic fermentation in oak. The wine was managed as individual barrel lots and racked up to 4 times during aging. The blend was assembled in the Spring of 2011 and then returned to oak barrels to allow the flavors to integrate until being bottled in the Summer of 2011.
