The 2010 Unfiltered Chardonnay is slightly different from the inagural 2009 vintage, as Ralph Holdenried decided to pull crops from a few different vineyards. Approximately 40% of the grapes came from Bayview 4 Carneros, the 2009 vinyard, with the balance from Carpenter Ranch (St. Helena) and Maria Manetti Farrow's Ranch (Rutherford). Ralf feels that using multiple vineyards for this vintage has built more muscle into the overall wine. After whole cluster pressing, the juice was fermented in 100% new French Oak, with 4 barrels actually re-racked back into new barrels 3/4 through aging.

This 100% Chardonnay exhibits crisp green apples and citrus fruit on the nose, which leads to great acidity on the palate. Finishing long and creamy, hints of butterscotch and caramel delight the senses.
